At the center of Purea™ Core is a ceramic bead stage designed to support a cleaner internal filter environment during regular use. Ceramic filtration materials are valued in water systems for their stability under heat and moisture, and for their ability to be engineered with micro-porous structures.

In many filtration applications, “antibacterial ceramic” refers to ceramic media designed with antimicrobial ions (commonly silver-ion ceramics) that help inhibit bacterial growth on surfaces within wet environments. This is especially relevant for shower systems, where warmth and humidity are present daily. Purea™ uses ceramic beads as a hygienic support stage so the system stays fresher between replacements and continues to perform consistently in real home conditions.

Helping capture fine particles.

After the ceramic bead stage, water passes through a micro-fabric (microfiber) filtration layer. This layer acts as a physical barrier designed to capture sediment and particulate matter such as fine debris and rust that can travel through household pipes. Microfiber filtration is commonly used for particle capture while maintaining flow, especially when engineered as layered or non-woven media to balance filtration and pressure drop.

By reducing sediment at the exit stage, the shower experience feels cleaner and more consistent, and it also supports smoother performance from the shower head over time.
